Around 40% of audiobookers listen while driving.
Young people, specifically men 18-34, are driving up the numbers in both audiobook listening and fatal traffic accidents. What if Spotify could make them drive safer? We came up with a feature in the Spotify app that alerts if the driver is exceeding the speed limit. The faster you drive over the speed limit, the faster the narrator reads your audiobook. So now Spotifys users can do the reading, without the speeding.

Around 40 % of audiobook listeners enjoy their books while driving. But young men aged 18-34 not only make up a large portion of audiobook listeners, they're also overrepresented in fatal traffic accidents.
